The Popular Show Season Four Introduces the Soldiers Table

From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept fans guessing with extensive world-building, a diverse cast of heroes, and a exciting storyline showcasing divine entities, evil spirits, and malevolent powers growing in influence within Dol-Makjar.

Warning: Revealing details for the latest installment of Campaign 4 are included.

The Combat-Oriented Party Introduced

The third episode finished on a major cliffhanger and introduced the first table of adventurers who will split off from the primary party to embark on their independent quest, separate from the remaining groups.

The combat-focused team consists of Teor (brought to life by Travis), Thimble (Laura), Tyranny (the cast member), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).

Why Split the Party?

Given 13 cast members, it was clear from the start that having everyone at a single group would be impossible.

That’s why, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, intertwining the personal journeys before branching into three smaller tables: Warriors, Schemers, and Explorers.

The Nature of the Soldiers Table

Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who prefer a typically action-packed fight-heavy narrative style where diplomatic options are few and far between.

At first glance, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander might look unsuited, but the events of the third episode demonstrate why these five characters are perfectly fit for the warrior group.

Reasons to Leave

To begin with, the team understands precisely where to go next after a brutal opening clash with the antagonists.

A former ally of the deceased character—whose passing kicked off the campaign’s events—exploited The Crow Keepers for his selfish purposes, invading the hidden lair, attacking the rogue, and swiping all the magical artifacts to sell off.

The traitor then settled his liabilities and escaped to a fortified location in the northern region, beyond the city, with Teor’s brother close behind.

Character Drivers

Additionally, each character has a specific drive to exit Dol-Makjar:

  • The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and trusted friend, seeks retribution.
  • Kattigan is familiar with the region and advises that it is a nasty place.
  • Tyranny and The healer, having disobeyed his house’s orders to execute Teor and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
  • But, their position as key figures in House Halovar could help the group access places they usually can’t.
  • Furthermore, Teor pledged a life debt to Wicander for his salvation and will now go with him everywhere.

Fugitives

In addition, all of them are hunted by the rulers that rule Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making remaining behind no longer safe:

  • The rogue and The character are known criminals.
  • Tyranny and Wicander betrayed House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
  • Teor is targeted for elimination by House Halovar.

This means them few options but to head to the remote area in quest for the traitor.

Upcoming Developments

From episode three’s post-show segment, we find out that the warrior group will be absent next week, leaving the remaining eight players to assemble the Explorers and Strategists groups.

Viewers can look forward to finding out which characters will be in which group in the season’s concluding setup installment, streaming live on the upcoming Thursday.
